Dear friends,

In my inbox this morning was an unsolicited email telling me that:

“Iran's ‘Supreme Leader’ Ayatollah Ali Khamenei recently had his ‘strategy specialist’ Alireza Forghani compose a document declaring that it would be a ‘jurisprudential justification’ for the Iranian military to wipe out the nation of Israel and all its Jewish inhabitants.”

When I googled "jurisprudential justification" it returned 1.5 million articles, all virtually identical, like this one:

The doctrine includes wiping out Israeli assets and Jewish people worldwide.

The Iranian government, through a website proxy, has laid out the legal and religious justification for the destruction of Israel and the slaughter of its people.

Calling Israel a danger to Islam, the conservative website Alef, with ties to Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said the opportunity must not be lost to remove “this corrupting material. It is a ‘jurisprudential justification’ to kill all the Jews and annihilate Israel, and in that, the Islamic government of Iran must take the helm.”

The article, written by Alireza Forghani, an analyst and a strategy specialist in Khamenei’s camp, now is being run on most state-owned sites, including the Revolutionary Guards’ Fars News Agency, showing that the regime endorses this doctrine.

But when I went to the Iranian Fars News Agency [http://english.farsnews.com/NewsV.php?srv=13&i=2] where the article was supposedly published and searched for the supposed author, Alireza Forghani, there was no such article. Furthermore, as you can read from the BBC [ http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5367892.stm ] :

Iran is home to the largest number of Jews anywhere in the Middle East outside Israel. About 25,000 Jews live in Iran and most are determined to remain no matter what the pressures - as proud of their Iranian culture as of their Jewish roots.

It is dawn in the Yusufabad synagogue in Tehran and Iranian Jews bring out the Torah and read the ancient text before making their way to work.

It is not a sight you would expect in a revolutionary Islamic state, but there are synagogues dotted all over Iran where Jews discreetly practise their religion.

The Iranian government has never expressed any desire to "kill all the Jews," many of whom live in Iran and want to remain there.

Somebody is orchestrating a Big Lie to justify a military attack on Iran. Such an attack will result in the deaths of large numbers of perfectly innocent Iranian people. It will embolden the Israeli government in its enforcement of more than six decades of ethnic cleansing of non-Jews from 80% of Palestine, which is what the "Jewish state," with its insistence on having at least an 80% Jewish majority population no matter what, is based upon. And it will enable the American ruling class of billionaires and banksters and their obedient politicians to strengthen their control over Americans and their enforcement of economic inequality by hiding behind the Big Lie that they are defending us from terrorism.

The often touted "right of Israel to exist" is not the same thing as the right of Jews to live peaceably in Palestine. The "right of Israel to exist" means the right of a Zionist elite of billionaires and generals and politicians to carry out ethnic cleansing of non-Jews as a way of strengthening their control over ordinary Jews [see http://www.newdemocracyworld.org/old/class_conflict_in_israel.htm] Denying Israel's right to exist simply means denying Zionists the "right" to commit ethnic cleansing (i.e. to refuse to allow the millions of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and villages in Palestine inside of what is today called "Israel" and to live there as equals to Jews under the law.)
