CAI's
Internet Greek Study Course is modeled after its bible study course
with its interactive elements. Presently, the Greek studies will
take you through the Gospel of John.
Your first lessons will get you familiar with the Greek alphabet
and its pronunciation. After that, its right into John 1:1. On the
way you'll learn Greek vocabulary, grammar rules, declensions, syntax,
and all sorts of interesting things.
The objective of the course is to make you familiar enough with
Greek that you will be able to understand the grammatical nuance
of the Greek New Testament so as to deepen your understanding of
its theology.
No textbooks are required, except a Greek interlinear New Testament,
which you can purchase from most Christian bookstores.
Rules for Submitting Questions:
1) Make sure your questions are short and to the point.
2) Make sure you ask only one question at a time; two questions
per week. If your question is similar to someone else's question,
it will be grouped together and given one reply.
3) Make sure your question is related to the matter being discussed
in the Greek study. We will not answer questions relating to other
topics.
4) Make sure your question deals with the verses being taught during
that week, not from a previous week.
5) If you do not want your name mentioned on the web when we answer
your question, make sure you tell us in your e-mail. Otherwise,
give us your name and address with each question you submit. However,
your address will not be listed on the web. It will be put in our
files only.
6) Send the questions to cairomeo@aol.com. In the subject section
of the e-mail put the words "Internet Greek Study Course"
so that we know to open that e-mail.
7) If we receive too many questions, we will have to select the
ones we decide will most benefit everyone. Thus, you may find in
some weeks that your question was not answered. Do not be discouraged.
We do not expect this to happen often, and, you will learn much
from the other questions that we have answered.
Cost of the Greek Study Course:
Unfortunately, CAI must charge for this service, since all our
financial resources to exist as a Catholic apostolate come from
CAI patrons. We have no grants, endowments, foundations, or any
such thing. We operate solely on the generous gifts of dedicated
Catholics. In return, you will receive one of the best lessons in
Catholic Greek study found anywhere. We ask that you not consider
your monthly installments as a fee, but as a donation to CAI so
that we can spread the Catholic gospel all over the world. We cannot
do this without your gifts.
The cost of the Greek study course is $10.00 per month. In that
month you will receive two lessons, one every two weeks. You can
come into the Greek study on the first Saturday of any month, and
you will start at the beginning of the course. Just contact us and
let us know you want to come in.
One of the initial means to pay for the CAI's Internet Greek Study
Course will be our PayPal service. This is a service which will
ask you to open up an account with them so that they can accept
your credit card for payment to CAI. Once we receive notification
from PayPal that you have paid for that month's Greek study, you
will be sent the study through e-mail. (Once you have a PayPal account,
you can use it to purchase anything on the Internet, or send money
to anyone with an e-mail address).
Once you have joined the Internet Greek Study Course, we will require
your credit card information to be sent to CAI so that we can deduct
for subsequent studies automatically each month.
To pay directly by credit card to CAI, send your name, address,
phone, and credit card information to our e-mail address (cairomeo@aol.com).
Or send to CAI, P.O. Box 278 State Line, PA, 17263, or call
1-800-531-6393 or 717-597-8670. If no answer you can leave
your information. Only our president retrieves those messages.
Well, we hope that whets your appetite. If you have any immediate
questions before entering the study, address them to cairomeo@aol.com.
